Secondary Info - North Speed Error Correction

An ongoing and accurate north speed error correction is a vital precon-
dition for the heading accuracy of the NAVIGAT 100 gyrocompass.

A regular status check of the north speed error correction secondary info
display from time to time is advisable for the operator.

For more details see also the ‘NORTH SP. ERR. CORR. (North Speed Error
Correction)” on page 2-24.

Accurate north speed error correc-
tion is indicated with the term
„ON“ and a correction value with
algebraic sign and decimal point
in the NORTH. SP. ERR. CORR sec-
ondary info page.

In case of loss or invalid speed
and/or position input data, the
north speed error correction value
cannot be calculated anymore,
„OFF“ and dashes replacing the
value indication are shown.

A corresponding „NO GYRO
CORR / HDG MANAGER“
warning will be raised in case
of defective north speed error
correction.
