Installation Check Procedures

Electrical Installation Check Procedure

1.

Check if the NAVIGAT 100 main power and back up power supply
(floating relative to ships ground) present is 24 VDC.

2. Check if all wiring of the NAVIGAT 100 gyrocompass is performed

according to the applicable standard or project specific connection
drawings.

3. Check that the main power and a backup power wiring for the

NAVIGAT 100 is through the strip-wound core inside the compass
housing to meet EMC values.

4. Check that all wiring cables are fitted with the applicable cable

screens and that all cable screens are correctly connected and
secured by clamps.

5. Check if all wiring cables are correctly connected to the correspond-

ing screw-down terminals of the NAVIGAT 100 mainboard.

6. Check if all the ship's cable are correctly inserted through the inlets

of the compass housing (wires connecting to TB1, TB2, TB4, TB6
through left hand side inlets, wires connecting to TB3, TB5 through
right hand side inlets).

7.

Make sure that all wires running inside the housing are short as pos-
sible and no wires run from one side across to the other / across the
mainboard.

8. Check if all NAVIGAT 100 gyrocompass system components are cor-

rectly grounded according to the standard or project specific connec-
tion drawings.



In case a step of the check procedure is not met as required, mend
the relevant installation condition to meet the requirements.



If all steps of the electrical installation check procedure are met as
required, proceed with the ”System Configuration Check Proce-
dure”.

System Configuration Check Procedure

1.

Check that the Gyrosphere Container (Mod. 10/3 or 10/4) intended for
operation is correctly installed.

2. Check that the baseplate cable is correctly connected to the appropri-

ate connector on the NAVIGAT 100 mainboard:

–

J3 Gyro analogue for Gyrosphere Container Mod. 10/3

–

J4 Gyro digital for Gyrosphere Container Mod. 10/4



In case the NAVIGAT 100 shall be operated with the Gyrosphere Con-
tainer Mod. 10/4, check:

–

that the NAVIGAT 100and other CompassNet members are
updated to the appropriate software version 1.110, and

–

that the jumper settings at the Gyrosphere Container Mod. 10/4
are set to
„Navigate“: Jumpers to the RIGHT.
