: Unpacking and Installation
Installation
Select a Location
When choosing the location for the MiniCapt Mobile Microbial Air Sampler(s), consider
the following to improve the utility of the unit.
•
Sample Point
Position the MiniCapt to ensure that the sampler head is pointed toward the
airflow.
CAUTION
Do NOT use the MiniCapt Mobile Microbial Air Sampler with sample tubing greater than the
following lengths:
The above lengths indicate total amount of tubing used. There should be no more than 2 meters of
upstream tubing used.
Lengths greater than the designated distance can cause the following negative effect:
A decreased flow through the sample chamber, resulting in inaccurate microbial collection.

Accessibility
The MiniCapt should be readily accessible for connecting and disconnecting
cables, fittings and tubing as required.
•
Interference with existing equipment
Installation of the instrument into equipment should allow for ease of access to
the equipment and not hinder operations.
•
Visibility
The MiniCapt’s touch screen should be visible during sampling for sampling and
alarm notifications.
•
Cables
Any cables used during sampling or recharging of the battery should reach
without strain.
•
Environmental conditions
The MiniCapt should be located in an environment consistent with its
temperature, humidity, altitude, and other relevant specifications.
•
Electromagnetic interference
The MiniCapt should be located away from strong electromagnetic fields.
• 5 meters long for the 25 LPM and 50 LPM units
• 3 meters long for the 100 LPM unit
