Power Requirements
This
section
provides
an
overview
of
the
power
requirements
for
the
library.
All
electrical
cabling
must
be
completed
before
beginning
the
library
installation.
Power Input
The
main
frame,
the
drive
expansion
frames,
and
the
service
frames
include
dual
AC
power
inputs.
When
using
a
redundant
power
configuration,
connect
each
input
to
a
separate
branch
circuit,
which
supports
failover
in
the
event
of
a
power
failure
in
one
of
the
circuits.
To
prevent
problems
switching
between
two
AC
power
sources
in
a
redundant
AC
power
configuration,
make
sure
each
frame
ʹ
s
AC
inputs
are
both
on
the
same
phase.
Different
frames
can
be
on
different
phases.
Also,
the
voltages
of
the
two
AC
power
sources
must
be
the
same
within
a
few
volts.
To
ensure
that
this
requirement
is
being
met,
measure
the
voltages
between
the
pins
of
the
two
input
cables
(IEC
60320
‐
C19).

Caution
Failure to meet the cabling and power specifications could damage your library,
result in data loss, or both.
Caution
If the power sources for the dual AC inputs for a frame are not on the same phase,
damage to the library could result.
WARNING
Line voltage exists at these connectors.
Only qualified personnel should attempt to conduct this test.
Use extreme caution when taking measurements.
