Introduction To The Autopilot

The Spearhead Autopilot is an automatic control system
for use when cutting on the ground.  It operates by sensing
the weight on the rear roller and maintaining this within a
narrow band without the attention of the operator. When
the angle of the area being mown is more than 45 degrees
to the horizontal, it is best to switch off the Autopilot and
operate the machine manually until the angle becomes
more normal. The middle position of the green switch will
allow angle float without autopilot.

Autopilot will only operate when the cutting head rear roller is in contact with the
ground.

If the machine is going to be used for long periods of time at hedge cutting it is
recommended to remove the Autopilot assembly between the dipper arm and head
and replace with standard head bracket (Part No. 1777315A).

Ensure you fully understand the operation of the Spearhead Autopilot, which will
reduce machine and operator fatigue and improve hourly output, machine life,
standard of work and comfort to the operator.
