Alarm Limits
Default alarm limit settings activate when the monitor is powered ON, a module is
inserted, or a parameter is enabled. You can modify the default alarm limit settings
to meet your own protocols.
Caution:
If the default alarm limit settings are selected, make sure that the alarm limit
settings are appropriate for the patient being monitored.

Caution:
The extreme high (or low) limit automatically adjusts when you adjust the high
(or low) limit, based on the configured offset determined by your facility. For
example, if the extreme high offset is set to 20 bpm and the high limit is set to
120 bpm, the extreme high limit would be 140 bpm.
Refer to the
Clinical Parameters Manual
for additional details.
Notes:
• High and low limits show in the parameter zone.
• All alarm limits show in the Alarm Limit Review tab under Monitor Setup.
• Extreme alarms, if enabled, are available for ECG and Invasive pressures
only.
Alarm Levels
Alarm conditions are visually and audibly prioritized as high, medium, or low.
Notes:
• The display’s alarm light, if enabled, flashes red for high-priority alarms,
flashes yellow for medium-priority alarms, and shows (non-flashing) cyan
for low-priority alarms. If the alarm acknowledge feature is active and an
alarm is acknowledged, the display’s alarm light will turn off until a new
alarm occurs.
• Alarm priorities are set using the Module Configuration Manager. Refer to
the
Module Configuration Manual, System Administration Guide
for more
information.
