Calculations
Although showing waveforms and measurements can provide critical
information to the clinician, adequate assessment and diagnosis
sometimes requires a broader view. The monitor can combine
individual patient parameters into equations, to produce values that
can be used for a broader assessment of systemic function. The
Calculations feature is a purchased option.
Types of Calculations
Calculations can be divided into two types:
• Physiologic calculations: Includes hemodynamic and oxygenation. These
calculations use input values entered manually, or collected automatically by
the system, to produce a set of output values. Refer to
on page 10-6 for more
information.
• Drug calculations: Lets you determine infusion rates for drugs, based on drug
amounts, desired dose, and patient weight. Refer to
Calculations Window
The Calculations window shows a set of inputs, either entered by the system or
manually, and a set of calculated output values.
You can do the following tasks from this window:
• Add a new column to the table.
• Delete a column from the table.
• Edit entries in the input section of the table.
• Print the calculations.
Notes:
• The Calculations window cannot be resized or repositioned.
