Notes on safety
Comply with your local traffic rules, laws and regulations.
While driving
– Do not watch or operate the unit, as it may lead to distraction and cause an accident. Park your car in a safe place to
watch or operate the unit.
– Do not use the setup feature or any other function which could divert your attention from the road.
While operating
– Do not insert your hands, fingers or foreign object into the unit, as it may cause injury or damage to the unit.
– Keep small articles out of the reach of children.
– Be sure to fasten seatbelts to avoid injury in the event of a sudden movement of the car.
Preventing an accident
Pictures appear only after you park the car and set the parking brake. If the car starts moving during video playback,
the picture is replaced by the following caution:
“VIDEO BLOCKED FOR YOUR SAFETY”
No video is displayed, but audio source can be heard.
Do not operate the unit or watch either monitor while driving.
Notes on installation
We recommend this unit should be installed by a qualified technician or service personnel.
– If you try to install this unit by yourself, refer to the “Installation/Connections/Operations” guide and install the unit
properly.
– Improper installation may cause battery drain or a short circuit.
If the unit does not work properly, check the connections first, referring to these instructions. If everything is in order,
check the fuse.
Protect the unit surface from damage.
– Do not expose the unit surface to chemicals, such as insecticide, hair spray, insect repellent, etc.
– Do not leave rubber or plastic materials in contact with the unit for a long time. Otherwise, the finish of the unit
may be impaired, or deformation may occur.
When installing, be sure to fix securely.
When installing, be sure to turn the ignition off. Installing the unit with the ignition on may cause battery drain or a
short circuit.
When installing, be sure not to damage any car parts such as pipes, tubes, fuel tank or wiring by using a drill, as it may
cause a fire or an accident.
Cautions
Run all ground (earth) leads to a common ground (earth) point.
This unit is designed for negative ground (earth) 12 V DC operation only.
Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
Do not install in locations which interfere with airbag operation.
Do not get the leads under a screw, or caught in moving parts (e.g. seat railing).
Before making connections, turn the car ignition off to avoid short circuits.
Connect the
yellow
and
red
power supply leads only after all other leads have been connected.
Be sure to insulate any loose unconnected leads with electrical tape for safety.
Notes on the power supply lead (yellow)
When connecting this unit in combination with other stereo components, the amperage rating of the car circuit to
which the unit is connected must be higher than the sum of each component's fuse amperage rating.
If no car circuits are rated high enough, connect the unit directly to the battery.

Precautions
Choose the installation location carefully so that the unit will not interfere with driving.
Avoid installing the unit in areas subject to dust, dirt, excessive vibration, or high temperature, such as in direct
sunlight or near heater ducts.
Use only the supplied mounting hardware for a safe and secure installation.

be installed (under the passenger seat, etc.). Make sure all cables can reach the unit, then secure it by the hook and loop
fasteners.

Note
It would be very dangerous if the unit were to be caught under the brake pedal. Install the unit on the passenger seat side only.
Installing the remote sensor

Wipe off any dirt or oil on the rear of the remote sensor
by the cleaner (not supplied), then attach the
double-sided tape
to the rear of the remote sensor.

Wipe off any dirt or oil on the place where the remote sensor is to be installed, then attach the remote
sensor
. Attach the remote sensor
in a position where it does not interfere with driving.
Install the remote sensor close to your monitor.
Secure the cord of the remote sensor by a clip (not supplied) as necessary.

Installing the One-Seg TV antenna (aerial)
To enjoy One-Seg TV, you need to install the One-Seg TV antenna (aerial). Choose the installation location for best
reception.

Remove the adhesive seal of the antenna (aerial) base
, and attach it to the upper part of the
windscreen, with the cable upwards (as illustrated).

Install clips (not supplied), and adjust the length and position of the cord so that it does not interfere with
driving.

Black: To a metal surface of the car
Connect the black ground (earth) lead.
Red: To the +12 V power terminal which is energized in the accessory position of the ignition switch
If there is no accessory position, connect to AMP REMOTE of the head unit.
Be sure to connect the black ground (earth) lead to a metal surface of the car first.
Yellow: To the +12 V power terminal which is energized at all times
Be sure to connect the black ground (earth) lead to a metal surface of the car first.
Light green: To the parking brake switch cord
Be sure to connect the parking brake lead (light green) of the power supply connection cable
to the parking brake
switch cord. The mounting position of the parking brake switch cord depends on your car. Consult your car dealer or
your nearest Sony dealer for further details.
