Set the following items in the Edit Menu.
PLAYER SEL:

Voice
INPUT VOICE CH:
The channel to which you have
connected the microphone or other input device
(for example, CH 1)
OUTPUT VOICE CH:
The channel on which you
will record the voice data (for example, CH 8)

Press the RECORDER button to switch to the
RECORDER mode screen.

Set In and Out points
, and specify the
range across which you will add the voice-over
(duration of the voice data).
When you want to use the Voice Over Video First
function, set the duration of the voice data to three
minutes or less. The duration cannot be set to longer
than three minutes.
The AUTO EDIT button begins to flash.

Press the AUTO EDIT button, and input the voice-
over from the microphone or other device.
The editing screen changes to full-screen display, and
the editing segment is played back. The following text
data is superimposed over the display in the video
monitor.
When the auto edit finishes, the screen switches from
full-screen display to the RECORDER mode screen.

Check to make sure that a sub clip VO n (n: 1, 2, 3, ...)
has been added to the voice track on the timeline.

The maximum number of voice data sub clips that can
be registered in a single edit list is 99.

Play the edit segment and check the audio.
You can monitor voice data audio at ±1 time normal
speed.
To add a clip to voice-over audio
1
Select Load Clip List from the Edit Menu, and select
“New File” (new edit list) from the list that appears.

To stop the recording
Do one of the following.
• With the OUT button held down, press the ENTRY
button.
• Press the STOP button.

Check to make sure that a sub clip VO 1 and an empty
video and audio data sub clip have been added to the
timeline.

To adjust the audio levels
The following figure shows voice data adjusted to a
relatively high level, and audio data that overlaps with the
voice data set to a relatively low level. You can adjust the
