Configuring Your Modem
Follow the steps below to make the settings before using the built-in modem.
1 Click Start and Control Panel .
2 Click Hardware and Sound .
3 Click Phone and Modem Options .
The Location Information window appears.
4 Enter the required information, and then click OK .
The Phone and Modem Options window appears.
5 Select your location on the Dialing Rules tab and click Edit .
The Edit Location window appears.
6 Select your location under Country/region .
7 Select Tone or Pulse for Dial using .

Pulse dial may not be supported in some counties or regions.
8 Enter an area code (if there is one).
In some countries or regions, you do not need to enter an area code.
If you need to dial a special number before accessing an outside line, enter the number for both
To access an outside
line for local calls, dial and To access an outside line for long-distance calls, dial .
9 Click OK .
The Phone and Modem Options window appears.
10 Click OK .
