Ad-hoc channel regulation in Europe
When using Wireless LAN, radio frequencies are used to transmit data from one computer to another. Radio
frequencies are divided into several channels. In some countries, using WLAN products may be restricted by
the local regulations (e.g. individual license, limited number of channels). Therefore, before activating the
WLAN functionality, carefully read the
Wireless LAN Regulations
document.
You need to change the channels if you are using an ad-hoc network.
To choose the correct channel, proceed as follows:
1
Turn on the
Wireless LAN
switch on the front side of the computer.
2
Click the
Network
icon
in the taskbar displaying
Wireless LAN Card Utility
.
The
Wireless LAN Card Utility
dialog box appears.
3
Select the
Profile
tab and type a suitable name for the profile.
