Chapter 8 SCSI Commands
When a host reserves a Medium Transport Element, the autoloader returns
RESERVATION CONFLICT status in response to the following commands
from another host:
• Initialize Element Status
• Log Select
• Mode Select
• Mode Sense
• Move Medium
• Read Attribute
• Read Buffer
• Read Element Status
• Receive Diagnostic Results
• Request Volume Element Address
• Reserve
• Position to Element
• Prevent/Allow Medium Removal (Prevent<>0)
• Send Diagnostic
• Send Volume TAG
• Test Unit Read
• Write Buffer
8.18.3. Third party reservation
The autoloader does not support Third Party Reservations, therefore the 3rdPty
bit and Third party device ID field are always 0. If set to a value other than 0,
the command is terminated with a CHECK CONDITION status. The sense key
is ILLEGAL REQUEST and ASC/ASCQ is INVALID FIELD IN CDB.
8.19. SEND DIAGNOSTIC Command (1Dh)
The SEND DIAGNOSTIC command requests that the autoloader perform an
autoloader Diagnostic operation. This command is normally followed the
issuing of the RECEIVE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS command which returns
the results.
Table 8.19.1 : SEND DIAGNOSTIC command
A Page Format (PF) bit of 1 indicates that the SEND DIAGNOSTIC Parameters
are constructed and transferred according to the SCSI-2 standard. If the Self-test
bit is 1, the PF bit must be 0. If the PF bit 1, the command terminates with a
CHECK CONDITION status.
