4-5-2. Optical Axis Adjustment
Preparations
1. Perform the “4-5-1 Optical Axis Check” to confirm that the optical axis of the checking lens does not satisfy the specification.
Adjustment Procedure
1. Remove the Front Ring (9139), Protection Rubber GD (9139) and Filter Screw Barrel Assy (9139) referring to the "2-1. DISASSEMBLY".
2. Loosen the three screws fixing the GD Lens Barrel Assy (9139).
3. Attach the checking lens to the flange back tester referring to the steps 1 to 3 of “4-5-1. Optical Axis Check”, set the 1000 mm collimator.
4. Adjust (shift) the GD Lens Barrel Assy (9139) so that the ring chart image becomes the center while observing the 1000 mm collimator.
5. Perform the “4-5-1. Optical Axis Check”, make sure that the optical axis of checking lens satisfies the specification.
6. When the specification (reference value) is satisfied, tighten the three screws loosened at Step 2.
7. Apply the adhesive bond (B-110) to the tightened three screws.

4-6. PHOTOGRAPHIC/PROJECTIVE RESOLVING POWER CHECK
4-6-1. Photographic Resolving Power Check
Equipments and Tools
• Resolution Check Chart (ILC) (J-6082-813-A)
• Camera (ILCE-7 series)
• 40 inch LCD monitor (Full HD)
* When checking and adjusting, check the resolution by expanding the photographed image.
Preparations
1. Set the Shooting Mode of the camera to the Aperture Priority mode and set the f-stop value to the minimum (open).
2. Set the camera at the position where a chart appears in the whole screen. Furthermore, move it to the 100 mm rear from that position.

Checking Method
1. Set to manual focus on status that the “Preparations” condition.
2. Focus and shoot with self timer.
3. Keep focusing as step 2, change the object distance to the shooting distance position ± 100 mm of step 1, then shoot two times with self timer.
4. Check the three images to see if the resolution of the patterns in four corners meets the standard shown in Fig.4-6-2.
Note:
Check if the circle in the center is resolved clearly. Then, check to ensure the other circles (24 circles) are resolved symmetrically in vertical and horizontal
directions. (A circle and its counterpart on the diametrically opposite side are resolved equally.)
* Use Adobe Photoshop to check the image resolution.

4-6-2. Projective Resolving Power Check
Equipment and Tools
• Lens Test Projector (J-6082-778-A) and Variable Transformer (Output voltage: AC 100 V)
Note:
Connect the variable transformer (Output voltage: AC 100 V) to the Lens Test Projector.
• Screen (Art paper)
• Tape measure
• Plane mirror (For SLRs)
Checking Method
1. Perform “2. PROJECTIVE RESOLVING POWER CHECK” of “E-MOUNT LENS GENERAL ADJUSTMENT GUIDE”.
