Creating a Startup Disk
You can create a Startup Disk when you have
Windows
®
Millennium Edition *
on your notebook.
If you have problems starting Windows, you can use a startup disk to start your computer, run diagnostic
programs and fix many problems.
To create a Startup Disk, proceed as follows:

Click
Start
.

Point to
Settings
and click
Control Panel
.
The
Control Panel
window appears.

Double-click
Add/Remove Programs
.
The
Add/Remove Programs Properties
dialog box appears.

Select the
Startup Disk
tab.

Click
Create Disk
.

Follow the instructions on your screen.
* On PCG-FX203.
You will need a blank 1.44 MB floppy disk to create a Startup Disk.
It is recommended to recreate a Startup Disk each time your computer undergoes major changes (new program installation, …).
When you insert the startup disk in your computer before restarting, the computer starts from that disk, not from your hard drive.
