Adjustment of Optical Drive System
5-1. General Information for Adjustment of Optical Drive System
The optical drive system adjustment is necessary after the optical block assembly has been replaced and after main parts
have been replaced.
5-1-1. Precautions
• The adjustment does not support with less than firmware package version 2.00 of this unit. Before adjustment,
update a firmware package version than 2.00. (Refer to “7. Firmware Upgrade” )
• Unless otherwise specified, perform this adjustment in the order of description.
• The optical block assembly in the drive assembly may be damaged due to static electricity charged in human body
and on clothes. Provide proper grounding and then start the adjustment. (Refer to “1-14. Cautions on Handling the
Optical Block Assembly” )
• The spindle motor in the drive assembly and the actuator around the objective lens have a strong magnet. If a
screwdriver or another metal touches the actuator due to magnetism, the objective lens may be damaged. If a
magnetic substance comes close to the optical block assembly, the actuator characteristics change. Do not bring a
magnetic substance close to them.
• The OPTICAL adjustment includes LD lighting processing. To avoid exposure to laser radiation, make the
adjustment with the loader assembly and the upper plate assembly (cabinet) installed (like a finished product).
• This unit contains four dual-channel optical block assemblies (MAIN BASE: OP0 and OP1, SUB BASE: OP2 and
OP3). Perform this adjustment sequentially for each optical block assembly.
Select an optical block assembly to be adjusted on the maintenance menu screen, and start the adjustment.
• Errors 95-907 and 95-B07 are stored in the error log in the optical block assembly replacement process. These
errors are generated by work and do not affect operations of the unit. After adjustments of optical block assemblies
have been completed, delete these errors by the ERROR LOGGER menu. (Refer to
“6-6-2. Clearing the Error Log” )
5-1-2. Preparation for Adjustment
1. Display the maintenance menu referring to “6-2. Starting the Maintenance Menu” .
2. Place the cursor at “ADJUST” with the [UP]/[DOWN] buttons.
3. Click the [RIGHT] button.
The ADJUST window appears.
