Recording Meetings via VCOnline
You can start recording sessions for meetings by calling the HD RECORDING
SERVER in the same way endpoints are called to meetings by the MCU via
the VCOnline monitor.
For details on other recommended methods for recording meetings, see “Start
Recording Meetings via RSOnline” (page 15).

Log into VCOnline using an administrator account.
Be aware that this is not RSOnline.

Select [Monitor] - [Meeting].
The Monitor (Meeting) screen appears.

Select the meeting you want to record.

Call the HD RECORDING SERVER to the meeting by specifying the user
ID, E.164 number, H.323 alias, or IP address.

Recording will start when the HD RECORDING SERVER connects to the
meeting. An increase by one in the number of connections to the selected
meeting will indicate that recording has started. Check the recording status
in RSOnline to verify that the meeting is recording properly.
Be aware that there are some limitations when using this method.
• The HD RECORDING SERVER will be registered as a gateway, so it cannot be
called via [Select EP].
• When you start recording by calling the HD RECORDING SERVER from the
VCOnline monitor, the usage status of the HD RECORDING SERVER cannot be
viewed. Therefore, if the specified HD RECORDING SERVER is already in use, it
cannot be called.
In such cases, specify a different H.323 alias, E.164 number, etc.
In addition, the HD RECORDING SERVER cannot be called by IP address if it has
already been called by IP address to another meeting.
• When you start recording by calling the HD RECORDING SERVER from the
VCOnline monitor, you cannot specify the recording layout during H.239 content
sharing. The H.239 layout during recording will be based on the system settings of the
HD RECORDING SERVER.
If you want to specify the H.239 layout, start recording by specifying the meeting via
RSOnline.
Using the VCOnline monitor (Meeting), you can stop recording by
disconnecting the HD RECORDING SERVER that is participating in the
meeting.
