Select whether to use the soft keyboard (i.e., on-screen
keyboard) or a hard keyboard in the setting screen that
appears, and press the ENTER button.
The default setting is [Soft Keyboard].

If [USB 3] or [USB 4] is set to touch panel / mouse
mode, hard keyboard mode cannot be selected.

To configure reader settings

When a barcode reader or card reader is selected, configure
the settings for reading data. The procedure for
configuring barcode reader and card reader settings is the
same.

press the ENTER button.

[Advanced] appears when a barcode reader or card
reader is selected.

The [Reader Settings] screen appears.

Scan the card.

The data from the card appears in the [Read Data] area.
Proceed with configurations while confirming this
data.

If there is an empty field within the data, an asterisk (*)
appears on the display.

Configure each setting.

Select an item using the

V

and

buttons, and press the

ENTER button to display the setting screen for that
item.

For details on using the on-screen keyboard, see
“Using the On-Screen Keyboard” (page 35).

When you finish configuration, use the
