In case of Difficulty
Apparent malfunctions are often due to user error in operation or connection. When trouble occurs with your unit, please
check the following before calling for service.
Symptom
No sound or sound output is low.
Sound quality is poor. (Sound
distortion)
A cassette cannot be inserted.
Poor reception.
Cause
The volume level is minimum.
The fader or balance is set to one side.
The cassette tape is faulty.
The volume level is too high.
The tape head is dirty.
The cassette is deformed.
You attempt to insert a cassette
incorrectly.
The antenna is not extended.
The radio wave condition of the station
being received is poor.
Remedy
Raise the volume level.
Adjust the fader and balance.
Use another cassette.
Use the appropriate volume level.
Clean the head. See “Cassette and Player
Maintenance” (refer to page 5).
Use another cassette.
Insert the cassette with the expose tape
aperture on the right.
Extend the antenna.
Tune in a frequency with a better radio wave
condition.
