Connect the power cord to a wall
outlet.
The unit automatically turns on, makes the
initial settings, and then turns off.
If the clock has not been set, the clock setting
display appears. In this case, set the clock
(page 29).
If no operation is made for one minute at this
time, a demonstration video starts playing
automatically. To disable the demonstration,
set the clock.

Press
(power).
The unit turns on.
A pop-up window appears in the top left part
of the display to show the network connection
status. This window automatically disappears
after a while. For details on the network
connection and setup, refer to the supplied
leaflet “Setup Guide” or the “Network
connection and setup” section in this manual
(page 98).
WARNING
Do not disconnect the power cord while the unit is
making the initial settings. Doing so may cause the
unit to malfunction.
To turn off the power
Press the
(power) button on either the remote
control or the main unit. The power may not turn
off immediately. If it does not, this indicates that
the unit is analyzing the music data on the HDD
(hard disk drive) (page 72). If you want to cancel
the analysis and turn off the power immediately,
press
. If you want to turn the power back on,
press the
(power) button.
As long as the unit is active as a server and the
client device is playing audio data, the server
function remains active and the power stays
on even if you press the
(power) button to
turn the unit off (the display turns off and the
illumination panel slowly flashes). Press
to
cancel the server function and turn off the unit.
WARNING
Do not disconnect the power cord while the unit
is turned on (the On/Standby indicator (page 18)
is lit up in green) or is analyzing music data (the
On/Standby indicator is lit up in orange and the
illumination panel (page 18) slowly flashes). Doing
so may cause the unit to malfunction.
Tip
This unit has two starting modes; Quick start-up mode
and Standard (power save) mode. See “Setting the standby
mode” on page 125 for details.
About operation modes
This unit has four operation modes: normal, quick
start-up standby, standard (power save) standby
and automatic analysis.
When the unit is set to quick start-up standby
mode, the internal fan will turn on every now and
then even when the power is turned off. This is
normal and is not a malfunction.
Normal operation mode
The unit enters this mode when it is turned on.
