Setting up the IP address/
proxy server
You may have to set the IP address and proxy
server, depending on the specifications of the
Internet provider or the network setting (e.g.,
broadband router status, wireless LAN router
status).
For details on the input values in the following
procedures, refer to the operating manual of the
respective device or the information provided
by your Internet provider.
To set the IP address manually

Enter the Settings menu and select
[Network setting].

Select [Manual setting].

Select [LAN] – [Wireless] or [Wired].

Select [Wireless LAN setting] or [Wired
LAN setting].

Select [Address setting].

Select [DNS manual] or [All manual] for the
[DHCP] setting.

Enter the values provided by your Internet
service provider for [IP address], [Subnet
mask] and [Default gateway].
Locate the cursor over the parameter, and
press  /  to enter each digit.
IP address A numeric address that is assigned
to each device in a network.
Subnet mask A value used to delimit a network
by defining the range of assignable
IP addresses.
Default
gateway
A device (such as a computer or
broadband router) on a network
that serves as a gateway for
accessing another computer outside
of the network. This device is
specified by an IP address.

Select [Apply].

Select [Close].
Tip
To restore the previous setting, select [Undo] before
doing step 8.
To set up a proxy server
1
Enter the Settings menu and select
[Network setting].

Select [Manual setting].

Select [LAN] – [Wireless] or [Wired].

Select [Wireless LAN setting] or [Wired
LAN setting].

Select [Proxy setting].

Change the [To Internet] setting to
[Connection via proxy].

Enter the address that have been given
from the Internet service provider for
[Proxy server] and number for [Port].

Select [Close].
