You can connect a “WALKMAN” or a USB device
to the unit and listen to music stored in the
“WALKMAN” or the USB device.
For details on the “WALKMAN” models and the
USB device that can be connected to this unit,
see ““WALKMAN” models and USB devices
supported by this unit” (page 78).

Tracks with copyright protection (Digital Rights
Management) cannot be played by this unit.
Tracks downloaded from Internet websites (including
online music stores) may not be played by this unit.

Only audio files can be played by this unit. Movie files
cannot be played. On this unit, playback is guaranteed
only for audio files created with the “Media Manager
for WALKMAN” software.

Listening to the music in a “WALKMAN” or a
USB device

Press WM-PORT/USB to select the
WM-PORT/USB function.

Connect a “WALKMAN” or a USB
device to the unit.
When playing tracks in a “WALKMAN”:
Do one of the following.
Connect a “WALKMAN” to the WM-
PORT on the top of the unit (page 28).
Connect a “WALKMAN” to the (USB)
port on the front of the unit.
When playing tracks in a USB device:
Connect a USB device to the (USB) port on
the front of the unit.
Make sure the “WALKMAN” or the USB
device is firmly connected.
For details on connections, refer to the
operating manual of the “WALKMAN” or the
USB device as well.
When the device is connected, “Reading”
appears, followed by the volume label.
If two portable devices are connected to the
WM-PORT and the (USB) port at the same
time, the device connected to the WM-PORT
takes priority. If you want to select the device
connected to the (USB) port, disconnect
the device from the WM-PORT.
Notes
Do not connect the “WALKMAN” to the unit
while the “WALKMAN” is updating its database.
It may take a while for the unit to recognize the
“WALKMAN” or the USB device.
