Chapter 3 Operation
Assigned Element Addresses
An element is a physical location where a cartridge can be kept. Applications
use element addresses to differentiate between the elements of the S-AIT
library. In this library, the element addresses are assigned to the cartridge slots
and the S-AIT drives in the following manner.
Notes
• Since the element addresses of the library are fixed numbers, they cannot be
reassigned.
• The library displays the information as follows on the LCD panel instead of
by element addresses.
- Magazine slots, fixed slots (Store element):1 to 20
- Drive 1, Drive 2 (Data transfer element):D1, D2
- Import/Export slot (Input/Output element):IE
- Robot (Picker assembly element):MT
• The Import/Export Slot may be referred as the Mail Slot in this manual.
