Exchanging and Updating Data Using HotSync
Operations

HotSync allows you to synchronize data between the applications on your
CLIE handheld and the Palm Desktop for Sony software on the computer.

You can synchronize your data by connecting your CLIE handheld directly
to your computer with the cradle.

• Synchronize the Date Book, the Address Book, the To Do List, the

Memo Pad, and the Expense data on your CLIE handheld with that on
the computer.

• Manage several units of the CLIE handheld simultaneously through the

computer.

• HotSync allows backup copies to be created automatically, safely saving

the CLIE handheld data.

• Install on your CLIE handheld add-on applications downloaded from the

Internet or from other sources.

Note

You cannot perform an infrared HotSync operation with a computer that has the Windows
2000 Professional operating system installed.
