Troubleshooting PTT Issues
I can’t make a PTT call.
•
Subscription to PTT Services:
You can access
PTT services only if you subscribe to PTT services
from the carrier. Contact your operator for more
information.
•
Check for coverage
: You must be within the
network coverage area to make a PTT call. Check
your idle screen to ensure you have a radio signal
( ).
•
Check your status
: If you see a red icon (
) in
the upper left corner of the screen, PTT is turned off.
To change your status to Available, press the PTT
button. Login screen will appear. Select OK to login.
The red icon will turn into green icon ( ) when the
login is successful. You can now make PTT calls.
I am not receiving PTT calls.
•
Your presence may be set to
Busy
(
). If your
presence is set to
Busy
, indicated by a red icon (
) you will not receive PTT calls. Change the presence
to available by selecting
Menu > TELUS Link >
menu > my presence > available > Ok
.
•
The phone profile should not be set to meeting/
silent. Change the phone profile.
I can’t hear PTT calls.
The speaker phone might have turned off and the voice
is routed through the phone earpiece. Please turn the
speaker back ON to hear PTT calls via loudspeaker. Turn
on the speaker by pressing the
#
key or select
Menu >
TELUS Link > Settings > Audio settings > Speaker >
on
.
The phone might be in meeting/silent mode. Disable
meeting/silent mode.
People cannot hear me on their PTT phone.
Remember to press and hold the
PTT
button and begin
speaking after an audibe tone. You should speak directly
into the phone’s microphone in a normal voice. Release
the
PTT
button only after you have finished speaking.
I am not able to add new contacts or groups.
•
Check if you are logged in to PTT service. Then,
complete one of the following options:
•
Press
Menu > Add new contact > Add
contact by name
and search the contact by
name.
•
b) Press
Menu > Add new contact > Add
contact by number
and search the contact by
number.
•
Check if you are trying to add contact to public
groups( Radio and conference group). You can
not add/edit/remove the public groups as they are
server created groups.
Some of the members in ‘group member screen’ have
a different icon. What do they indicate?
These icons indicate the following presence status of the
PTT contacts.
•
Offline user -
•
Available user -
•
Alert me user -
•
Busy user -
