7.4 Functional Tests
7.4.1 Serial Communications Test
Use the following procedure to test the serial communications of the WSM 6+.
1. Using the 8370-011-01/02 charger/comms interface, connect the WSM 6+ to a PC.
2. Start the
6G Terminal Lite
Software.
3. Switch the transponder
ON
.
4. Refer to

7.4.2 Transponder Test
Use either of the two following procedures to test the transponder:

7.4.3 Responder Test
As the WSM 6+ uses the same connection for RS232
comms in
and
trigger in
, a PC terminal
software package can be used to test responder mode.
1. Connect to the WSM 6+ using the
6G Terminal Lite
software.
2. On the
6G Setup
tab
,
ensure the
Enable Responder
check box is ticked.
3. On the
6G Setup
tab
,
ensure the
Water Depth
slider
is set to the maximum to ensure the
power level of the WSM 6+ is high enough to be clearly audible.
4. Change the connection baud rate in
6G Terminal Lite
to
1200
using the steps below:
a. Double-click on the relevant COM port icon
b. Select
Change Baud Rate
