Adding wood during cooking
Check from time to time to see how much wood is left in the Vital Stove, and
if necessary add more to ensure that the heat diffuses evenly under the grate.
Free the center trap of the grate, using the multifunction handle to slide it
gently.
Using the multifunction handle, grasp the wood blocks and place them in the
Vital Stove. Ensure that no blocks protrude above the Vital Stove, so that the
trap close easily.
Immediately close the trap with the multifunction handle.
Turn up the fan to maximum to ignite the fresh wood. As soon as it ignites,
adjust the fan to the desired intensity.
Turning off the appliance
.
Leave the fan running for a while even after all the wood has finished burning
to accelerate the cooling of the unit.
CLOSED LID POSITIONS
Never close the lid completely during cooking: the in-
tense heat will burn your food and may damage the
appliance.

For cooking at low heat or smoking
food at the end of the cooking pe-
riod, place the lid in semi-closed
position. This position is also ap-
propriate for short high temperature
