Autotransformer Coupling

DANGER

Installation must be done by qualified personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable installation
and electrical codes and regulations. Recommendations for installing the Vulcan unit are provided
here for use by qualified personnel only.

Failure to follow these instructions will result in serious injury or death.

Autotransformers are induction devices that can step-up the 120Vac output from Vulcan to a
split-phase 120V/240Vac output. A 3 - 5kVA dry-type transformer is recommended if a 4 wire
service is needed (2 hot, 1 neutral, 1 ground) to output 240Vac with two 120Vac rails,
