Saving a PID data file:
Select
Save
from the upper toolbar. A confirmation message will briefly display
to inform you that the data file has been saved.
Creating a custom PID list:
1.
Select
Custom
from the upper toolbar, then select
Deselect All
at the bottom
of the screen.
2.
Select
Engine Speed (RPM)
,
MAF (g/s)
, and
HO2S B1 S1 (V)
from the list.
Each PID is highlighted once selected.
3.
Select
Graph View
or
List View
to view your custom PID list.
To change your list, select
Custom
again and modify your selection.
4.
Select
Exit
, and then
Back
to return to the Main Menu (Engine).

Proceed to

Scanner Demo 4 - Perform a Functional Test
This demonstration simulates performing a functional component test.
NOTE
This functional test demonstration is intended to show a typical testing
scenario, therefore the data displayed will not change when performing a test,
as it should when testing an actual vehicle.
1.
From the Main Menu (Engine) select
Functional Tests.
2.
Select
Output Controls
>
EVAP VENT SOLENOID Valve
3.
A message displays “Test will not function correctly if on-board EVAP
diagnostic is running.”, select
Continue
.
The test screen displays PIDs related to the system being tested and
functional test check boxes are displayed at the top labeled Venting and Not
Venting.
4.
To check the EVAP Vent Solenoid operation, you can turn the EVAP Vent
Solenoid
ON
or
OFF
by choosing the applicable checkbox (Venting or Not
Venting). At the same time you can monitor the EVAP Vent Solenoid PID to
see if there is a change.
Note:
Switching the solenoid ON/OFF in this demo
will not change PID data.
5.
Select
Exit
and then
Back
until the Systems Menu displays.
6.
Proceed to
Scanner Demo 5.

Scanner Demo 5 - Perform a Code Scan
This demonstration simulates performing a typical code scan of all supported
vehicle systems, and saving the code scan data.
1.
From the Systems Menu select
Code Scan.
2.
Choose which type of code scan you want to perform,
Pre Scan
or
Post Scan
.
The Code Scan results screen displays and starts the automated process of
scanning vehicle systems for codes. A status indicator is displayed as the scan is
performed.
3.
Once the scan is complete, gesture scroll to view the complete list.
Codes are displayed by system, and OBD-II codes and readiness monitor
status is displayed towards the end of the list.
Select the
Expand/Collapse
icons located at the upper left of each system
category to expand and collapse their displays.
4.
The code scan report is automatically saved.
5.
Select the
Home
icon from the lower toolbar, to open the Home screen.
6.

Scanner Demo 6 - View Saved Scanner Codes, Data Files and Code Scan
Reports
This demonstration shows you how to open saved data from the previous demos.
Viewing Saved Codes and Code Scan Reports:
Vehicle records are automatically created when you identify a vehicle, and codes
are saved in these records when a code scan is performed, or any system is
scanned for codes.
1.
From the Home screen select
Vehicle History.
2.
The vehicle records list displays, showing the most recent entry at the top.
3.
Open the vehicle record (e.g. 2016 Demostration..Tahoe (4WD)...) from the
top of the list. This should be the record just created from performing these
demos, and will have the current date.
The vehicle record opens, providing you options to enter more information
about the vehicle, and also includes a Data Display window which lists the
codes found from the scan. In this case a Code Scan was performed, so all the
codes found in the scan are displayed.
The attachments window shows a PDF link for the Code Scan Vehicle
Systems Report. A collective list of all Vehicle Systems Reports is also
available from Data Manager, (Home screen icon) (Select
Data Manager >
Vehicle System Report Data Folder)
