The EZ Card
TM
1000 is SMC Networks new 32-bit
10/100/1000Mbps copper gigabit PCI interface card
(SMC9452TX) designed for high performance workstations
that want a faster solution than today’s 10/100 adapters.
Bringing a cost effective solution to the desktop, SMC’s new
32-bit gigabit PCI Card provides an excellent solution for
applications that require high-speed, and reliable network
connectivity. The SMC9452TX offers 10Mbps, 100Mbps and
1000Mbps and supports full duplex to maximize a networks
potential speed while accommodating the existing
infrastructure.
Conforming to IEEE standards, the SMC9452TX is the
perfect solution for delivering high throughput with
minimal utilization of the CPU. Features such as TCP and
UDP Checksum, Flow Control, Jumbo Frame support, and
802.1P all ensure data integrity even under heavy
loading. These features combined with management
tools such as the Marvell® Virtual Cable Tester
TM
* for
advanced cable diagnostics, Wake-On-LAN, SNMP and
RMON make the EZ Card™ 1000 an ideal solution for
today’s high performance workstations.
* Virtual Cable Tester is a trademark of Marvell

for advanced cable diagnostics
IP Checksum Offloading
PCI Bus, supporting 33/66 MHz speed and 32-bit data
transfer size
Jumbo Frame support
Quality of Service (QoS) and Virtual LAN support
Gigabit Ethernet is 10 times faster than Fast Ethernet.
Provides 2Gbps full duplex network performance and is capable
of automatically detecting the connection speed and auto-
negotiating to the highest possible performance.
Maximizes the total performance of the system.
Virtual Cable Tester enable IT managers to easily pinpoint the
location of cabling issues down to a meter or less, reducing
network installation and support costs.
Eliminates CPU bottleneck by offloading a time consuming task.
Boosts bulk data transfers, resulting in more efficient bus
transfer and reduction of server load. Hence, increasing the
server’s usable bandwidth.
Priority queuing for 2 classes of priority queues in both
transmit and receive, ensuring critical data receives priority
attention (IEEE802.1P). Supports up to 64 VLANS for increased
network performance, improved manageability, and increased
security.
