Connect the other end of the cable to your room control system, using the instructions that
came with your system.
Aligning the Audio
The X-Port 30 unit is equipped with balanced audio outputs that have adjustable output levels.
If you use these ports, you might need to align the audio to suit your room.
Most professional audio systems require a level of 0 dbu or +4 dbu. To accommodate these
levels, the X-Port 30 unit is shipped with the output levels set to +4 dbu with an input of -10
dbu. As well, the balanced audio amplifier is designed to drive load impedance from 600 ohms
to 40K ohms, so the X-Port 30 unit is adaptable for most professional audio systems.
To align the audio system
1
Attach a leveled audio generator to an audio input on the X-Port 30 unit connection panel.
This generator must be capable of an output level of -10 dbu at 400 Hz.
2
Press the source selection button on the control panel that corresponds to the input under
test.
3
Using a suitable audio level meter, set the generator output level to -10 dbu (0.244V
RMS
)
at 400 Hz.
4
Measure the output level of the test channel with the audio level meter.
5
Set your preferred audio level using the control panel potentiometers. For the left channel,
adjust VR101, and for the right channel, VR102.
NOTE:
The potentiometers are recessed approximately 1"
(2.5 cm)
.
