Loading/Unloading
2.6 Loading/Unloading
KNOW all national, state or territorial/provincial and local rules which apply to your loading/unloading of aerial
platforms.
Only qualified personnel shall operate machinery during loading/unloading.
Be sure vehicle capacity and loading equipment hoists, chains, straps, etc. are sufficient to withstand maximum
aerial platform weight.
The transport vehicle must be parked on a level surface and must be secured to prevent rolling while the aerial
platform is being loaded or unloaded.
2.6-1 Lifting
When it is necessary to lift the Skyjack aerial platform the following conditions must be met:
•
The platform must be fully lowered.
•
The emergency main power disconnect switch must be in the “OFF” position.
•
The hydraulic/electric and battery trays must be closed and securely latched.
•
The extension deck must be retracted and secured.
•
The control box must be secured to the railings or removed.
•
The platform must be cleared of all personnel, tools, and materials.
•
The lifting/rigging may be attached to all four lifting points as illustrated in Figure 2-17.
