LONG WORKPIECE SUPPORT
Support long workpieces to prevent sagging .
Use an auxiliary workpiece support for long
workpieces (Fig. 10).
MAKING A CUT
WARNING
The cut-off saw should al-
ways be used on a stable and
level surface.
WARNING
The operator must wear hear-
ing protection when operat-
ing the cut-off saw, and gloves when handling
wheels.
Be aware of the path of the wheel. Make a dry
run with the saw OFF by conducting a simulat-
ed cutting cycle and observe the projected path
of the wheel. Keep hands at least 6 inches
away from the projected path of the saw wheel.
1 . Properly position the workpiece . Make sure
that the workpiece is clamped firmly against
the vise clamp and the vise stop.
2 . Activate the switch . Wait until the saw
reaches its maximum speed. Lower the head
assembly and make your cut.
3 . Wait until the wheel comes to a complete
stop before returning the head assembly to
the raised position and/or removing work-
piece .
