MQL systems with PROFIBUS interface
come with a PROFIBUS fieldbus coupler
(Fig. 3). The MQL system behaves like an I/O
device connected to the bus.
Data is exchanged via input and output
bytes.
For unique identification of the MQL
system on the PROFIBUS, the bus address
must be set. The address is set with the
rotary decade switches at the respective
control unit (see Chapter 7.1).
For diagnostic purposes, the PROFIBUS
DP fieldbus coupler has four LEDs, which
indicate whether a data connection exists
during commissioning or in case of errors
(see Table 1).
