9. Maintenance
9.8 Dismantling/assembly of throttle screws
Attention!
The throttle screw may only be
dismantled when the machine is shut
down and no pressure is present.
Activation of the bypass mode will not
do, since (hot) lubricating oil continues
to low to the lube point through the
throttle screw when the bypass is open.
Due to the risk of burns the temperature
of the lubricating oil must not exceed
20 °C when dismantling a throttle
screw.
•
Switch off machine/system
• Close feed line to low meter block
Attention!
Close all throttle screws (with the
exception of the throttle screw to be
changed) to keep the lubricating oil
from lowing back out of the remaining
lube lines leading to the block.

•
Close ( by turning clockwise) all the thrott-
le screws on the low meter block with a
an allen key (

Performing a throttle screw change
•
Drain the line to the lube point connected
to the low meter
•
Loosen the cover bolts and remove tog-
ether with the plastic cover
•
Insert an allen key (WAF 4) (

) in the
throttle screw (
2
)
•
Screw out the throttle screw (
2
)
•
Insert a new throttle screw (
2
)
Mount cover
• Place cover on low meter’s housing
pay attention to right head ofice of the
gasket
•
Insert cover bolts in holes (SMD 2 = 4x,
SMD 3 = 6x)
•
Tighten cover screws with a torque
wrench
Tightening torques
SMD 2 = 5 Nm
SMD 3 = 8 Nm

Reset to normal operation
•
Reset to normal operation - as described
in 7.4 or 7.6
Adjust throttle screw
•
Adjust the new throttle screw (
2
) - as
described in 6.1 ”Adjustment of the SMD
low meter”

if necessary remaining closeded throttle
screws open, and adjustment the Throttle
screws, see Point 6.1.
