approach by starting with the DIP switches of analog channel 1 and work through
them till analog channel 16, then work on digital channel 1 through digital
channel 8. Refer to
DIP Switches on Protection Module
DIP switches.

Note 1
: PRM with firmware version prior to 192 must be pre-configured with the
same configuration (CRC match) as the old PRM.
Note 2
: Check that the PRM has correct FW (use command “intd0”). If FW needs
updating and there is an RLM in the slot that shouldn’t be updated, then the PRM
needs to be temporarily moved to a separate rack/slot during update because a
PRM FW update will also update the FW of the associated RLM during which there
will be a restart of the RLM (relays will de-energize during that process).

7. Send the configuration to the newly inserted PRM. This can be done via IMx-M
Manager or by synchronizing from @ptitude Observer.
to verify that all channel DIP switches are
set correctly by verifying their individual BIAS/BOV and AC components. Exit the
Maintenance Mode when finished.
9. If all has been verified to satisfaction, no unwanted Circuit Faults exist, and all
STATUS Ready LEDs indicate that all the modules in the rack are configured and
running (slow green flash), arm the rack.
To hot-swap a RLM, perform the following steps:
1. Disarm the rack.
2. Remove the RLM and insert a new RLM according to the instruction
3. If a FW update is needed (check with command intd0 to the PRM in the same slot),
then perform FW update via the PRM.
4. Download the original configuration to the RLM: using either IMx-M Manager and
the associated PRM or by using @ptitude Observer connected via Ethernet to that
slot.
5. Check that no unwanted Circuit Faults exist.
6. When all STATUS Ready LEDs indicate that all the modules in the rack/slots are
configured and running (slow green flash), arm the rack.
