How to Set Up your Machine Condition Advisor
Prior to using the SKF Machine Condition Advisor, you
should fully charge its battery and set up the
instrument to best measure your specific machinery.
In this section, we describe how to:
•
Charge the instrument’s rechargeable battery.
•
Set the instrument’s language.
•
Set the system units to either English or Metric
units.
•
Enable / disable the infrared temperature
measurement.
•
For the instrument’s overall vibration
measurements, specify your general machinery
size, speed, and foundation type by ISO
classification group. These settings determine
alarm levels for the overall machine vibration
measurements.
•
For bearing vibration measurements, select a
bearing alarm classification based upon the
general bearing size and shaft speed of your
machinery bearings. This setting determines
alarm levels for the bearing vibration
measurements.
