Installing the software driver for the USB flash
drive

In order to read the content of the USB flash drive on the PC, a dedicated software driver
must be installed.

Prerequisites

For this task you need the dedicated software driver.

Context

The USB flash drive provided for data storage is formatted with Linux EXT2. To read the
USB flash drive on your PC, a dedicated driver must be installed. The "ext2fsd" driver
required to read the USB flash drive is provided with the WBT Mini. You must install the
driver for the USB flash drive before you insert the USB flash drive.

Note

Do not attempt to communicate with the USB flash drive until the "ext2fsd" driver has been
installed on the PC. This may cause inadvertent formatting of the USB flash drive as a
Windows device. Formatted as a Windows device, the USB flash drive cannot be used in
the WBT Mini.

You can find the software driver on the USB flash drive that was provided with your WBT
Mini system.

Procedure

1

Turn on the PC.

2

Close all the programs on the PC.

3

Do not insert the USB flash drive from the WBT Mini.

4

Download the software driver.

5

Install the software driver.

Result

Once the software driver has been installed, you can communicate with the USB flash drive.
