The Ethernet traffic between the TV80 and some external devices, such as sensors or
peripheral systems, is made using
Internet Protocol (IP)
and
User Datagram Protocol
(UDP)
ports. The
UDP Configuration
dialog box allows you to set up the IP address and ports
to receive data from an external device. You can also remove the selected Ethernet port.
How to open
The
UDP Configuration
dialog box, is opened from the
I/O Setup
page on the

Description
The
User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
is one of the core members of
the Internet Protocol Suite, the set of network protocols also used for the
Internet. With UDP, computer applications can send messages, in this
case referred to as datagrams, to other hosts on an Internet Protocol
(IP) network without requiring prior communications to set up special
transmission channels or data paths (TCP).
UDP is sometimes referred to as the
Universal Datagram Protocol
.
Details
Description
You can change the name
of the port. This will help
you identify it easily.
Local IP
If you have more than one
Ethernet adapter, you must
specify the IP address of the
Ethernet adapter you wish
to use.
Local Port
This port is important if you wish to receive information on the Processor Unit. The
number you define here must match the port number on the "remote device" that is
providing the information.
Hard Type
You can read the name of the external device it is connected to.
