Configuring a PX Universal and a PX MultiCatch sensor for a PI
type receiver unit
Catch monitoring sensors are delivered from Kongsberg Maritime AS readily set up with
common default settings. When required, each individual sensor may be configured to
specify its communication channel and which measurements to make.
Prerequisites
This procedure assumes that a suitable receiver unit has been connected to the Processor
Unit, and that all relevant communication parameters have been defined.
Context
The
PX Configurator
dialog boxes allow you to set up which measurements the sensor shall
make, the communication channel and some other relevant parameters.
Note
The TV80only allows you to configure PX sensors. If you wish to use older sensors (not PX
family), these must be configured using their dedicated applications before you add them.
Procedure

Open the
Setup
menu.

On the
Setup
menu, select
Installation
.
Observe that the
Installation
dialog box opens.

At the bottom of the
Sensor list
page, select
Add New Sensor
.
The
Add New Sensor
dialog box opens.

Select
Yes
.

In the
PX Sensor Configurator
dialog box, select communication port and sensor type,
then select
Connect
.

At the top of the dialog box, select PI50 or PI60 Receiver unit.

In the trawl illustration, select the location of the sensor on the trawl.

Select the direction the sensor is going to point to, either to the vessel or to the trawl.

Choose the measurements you want the sensor to make and define the relevant
parameters. For more information about the different parameters, see
By default, PX Universal and PX MultiCatch sensors can always send 2 measurements.
When interfacing a PI type receiver unit, the maximum number of measurements is
