Improving the Trawl Unit sensor readings
If you get unexpected depth and temperature readings from the Trawl Unit, then you can
enter offset values to correct the sensor data.
Prerequisites
The Sonar Head must be running to do this procedure. If not, the
Sensor Setup
icon will
be greyed out.
Context
This button is located on the top bar.
There are depth and temperature sensors inside the FM90 Sonar Head.
Procedure
1
Observe the Trawl Unit’s temperature and depth readings in the sensor status pane, the
depth and temperature graphs, or the
Temperature and Depth
window.
2
Check for inaccurate readings.
For example, for the depth reading, anywhere above the waterline should report zero.
3
Click the
Sensor Setup
button.
4
Select the
Sensors Page
tab.
5
Enter the appropriate depth or temperature offsets.
For example, if the depth reading is reporting as 2m above the waterline, then enter an
offset of -2m.
Note
If you have applied an offset, a (B) will appear before the sensor reading in the trawl
sensor status pane. (B) will also appear in the readings shown in all the sonar views
and in the Depth and Temperature graphs.
6
Select
OK
to save the chosen settings and close the dialog box.
