Additional Protective Circuit 

Each group of 4 outputs is also protected internally against 24V/3 to 24V/4. Braking of in-
ductive  loads  is  limited  to 

– 12.7 V as shown in the graph below.  However, an additional 

protection circuit directly on inductive loads is recommended (freewheeling diode) to avoid a 
system failure caused by voltage spikes (cross talk on analog lines). However, this results 
in the internal voltage limit being effective up to -0.7 V only.
