DANGER
Explosion hazard
The analyzer must not be operated in potentially explosive atmospheres. Gases with
flammable or explosive components must not be connected.
Explosions must be expected if this is violated, with the possibility of danger for personnel,
plants, and the environment!
DANGER
Danger of poisoning
When measuring toxic or corrosive gases, leaks in the gas path can result in enrichment of
the sample gas in the analyzer, and poisoning can result at corresponding concentrations.
To prevent the danger of poisoning or the damaging of analyzer components, you must
carry out the following measures:
•
Purge the system with inert gas (e.g. nitrogen).
•
Collect the gas displaced by purging using suitable equipment, and discharge it in an
environmentally-friendly manner via an exhaust line.
CAUTION
Incompatibility with liquids
If liquid enters the internal gas paths, the gas analyzer will usually become unusable. Liquid
can also result from condensation.
•
It is therefore essential to prevent condensation in the sample gas path of the gas
analyzer
•
If the sample gas contains components which condense:
–
Install an appropriate gas preparation system upstream of the gas analyzer
–
Each time you wish to shut down the internal gas path, first purge with a neutral gas
which contains no components which could condense.
