11.5 Replacing the device
Decommissioning and dismantling the old device
Steps
1
Switch off the mains power input at the external disconnecting means and ensure that no
voltage is present.
2 Switch off the connected heating elements and ensure that no voltage is present.
3 Switch off the 24 V DC power supply.
4 Remove plugs X1 to X4 from the old device.
5 Remove the four screws used to fix the device in place, remove the device and place it on a
suitable surface (see section Mounting the device (Page 22)).
Installing and connecting the new device
Installation steps

Install the replacement device. (see section Mounting the device (Page 22))
2 Reconnect all plugs to the replacement device. (see section Connection element locations
(Page 27))
Commissioning the new inverter
Steps for commissioning
1
Set the correct bus address. (see section Setting the bus address (Page 37))
2 Connect the supply voltage to the device and to the heating element array.
11.6 Recycling and disposal
Note
Since the HCS heating controller components only contain low levels of harmful substances,
they are suitable for recycling. Contact a certified electronic scrap disposal company in order
to ensure the environmentally-friendly recycling and disposal of your used device.
