6.7 RS232 interface
The RS-232 interface is only used for firmware updates and is not accessible during
operation.
The RS-232 interface is connected via a 9-pin sub D connector that is located on the CPU
module which can only be accessed by opening the enclosure cover.

The table below shows the terminal assignments for the 9-pin sub D male connector in the
front panel of the CPU module.

Connecting cables
Null modem cables of various lengths are generally available for connecting a PC which also
has a 9-pin sub D male connector.
Please note that you must only use shielded connector casings and cables. A large surface
area of both sides of the cable shield must be in contact with the connector casing.
