11.1 Installing and removing the backup battery
The service life of a backup battery is approximately 5 to 8 years, depending on the operating
conditions.
Note
An empty backup battery impairs the function of the device. Replace the backup battery in good
time.
Replace the backup battery only with a battery of the same type or a type recommended by
Siemens.
The article number of the backup battery is A5E34734290.
Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
NOTICE
Batteries and rechargeable batteries pollute the environment
Used batteries and rechargeable batteries represent special waste and must not be disposed
of as domestic garbage. Users are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable
batteries. It is a punishable offense if you do not correctly dispose of batteries and
rechargeable batteries.
Observe the following when disposing of batteries and rechargeable batteries:
● Dispose of individually used batteries and rechargeable batteries as special waste in
accordance with local legal requirements.
● You can return used batteries and rechargeable batteries at public collection points and at
retail outlets where these types of batteries and rechargeable batteries can be obtained.
● Mark the used battery collection container with the text "Used batteries and rechargeable
batteries".
Requirement
● The device is disconnected from the power supply.
● No peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or monitor are connected.
