Monitoring of excessive oscillations
If the pendulum deflection of the oscillation exceeds the set response threshold (P156), this can
be detected and evaluated. Bit 6 "Excessive oscillation" is provided in the status word
"INFO_NO_AUTO_START" for this purpose. This bit is set if the following condition is fulfilled:
$XVOHQNXQJ !
3yO
HII
y3
Jy
This bit is reset again if the following condition is fulfilled:
$XVOHQNXQJ

It is not only the current deflection that is considered (because this changes constantly during
one oscillation period), but also the pendulum velocity. Hence, the "Excessive oscillation"
status bit is set whenever an oscillation occurs with a maximum amplitude that corresponds to
the value set in parameter P156. The value "P156 = 100%" corresponds to an average
pendulum deflection that occurs at acceleration rates according to the value set in P5. The
"Excessive oscillation" status bit is operative in all modes, even when the SC_ON control bit is
reset.
In the POS and SAM modes, error message E62 "Start POS or SAM with excessive oscillation"
is triggered if the "Excessive oscillation" bit is set at the start of travel.
10.4.2
Monitoring of the sway control system
Reducing the action of the sway controller
The action of the sway controller is influenced by an internal damping factor. This damping
factor is set to 100% for low oscillations to which the following applies:
'HIOHFWLRQ y
O
HII
y3
J
In the case of higher oscillations, the damping factor and thus also the action of the sway
controller are reduced.
If the damping factor is reduced to a value lower than the response threshold set in P159, error
message E63 is output.
Monitoring of increased oscillation
Increased oscillation is detected if the maximum sway amplitude increases by at least the value
in parameter P155 in at least four consecutive half-periods. If this occurs, the damping factor
