Hearing damage
Hearing damage may occur if the motor exceeds a sound pressure level of 70 dB (A) due to
the type of mounting or pulse frequency.
•
Reduce the sound pressure level by implementing sound damping and/or soundproofing
measures.
When operated in the speed range 0 to rated speed, 1FT2 motors can reach the following

The motors are certified for a wide range of installation and operating conditions. These
conditions such as rigid or vibration-isolated foundation design influence noise emission,
sometimes significantly.

Derating factors
With ambient temperatures > 40 °C or installation altitudes > 1000 m above sea level, the
permissible S1-characteristic must be reduced in speed and torque:

Calculate the derating factor for ambient temperatures that are not shown here and installation alti-
tudes below the maximum values by interpolating. For example: 40 °C at 1500 m above sea level =
derating factor 0.965.
