You can connect the RF382R Scanmode reader via the internal RS-232/RS-422 interface or via a 
higher-level system. (See section "Basic rules (Page 110)") Make sure that the pin assignment is 
correct. In the factory settings, the reader is set to RS-232. Siemens can change the interface to 
RS-422.
