Restore CD/DVD
The Restore CD/DVD is used to restore the system partition or the entire hard disk to factory
state if the system has crashed. The bootable CD/DVD contains all the necessary image
files. They create a start diskette which restores the factory state through the network drive.
ROM memory
Read Only Memory The ROM memory is a read only memory in which every memory
location can be addressed individually. The programs or data are permanently stored and
are not lost in the event of a power failure.
Idle state
The screen and hard disk are shut off during idle state. All data located in the RAM is stored
on the hard disk and the PG is shut off.
Interface
The connection of individual hardware elements, e.g. programmable controller, PCs,
programming device, printer, or screen, by means of physical plug connectors.
Connection between different programs in order to exchange data.
Drivers
Program parts of the operating system. They adapt user program data to the specific formats
required by peripheral devices, such as hard disk, monitors, and printers.
V.24 interface
The V.24 interface is a standardized interface for data transfer. Connect printers, modems,
and other hardware components to the V.24 interfaces.
