Installing the configuration package
Procedure
The configuration package contains a configuration tool for FM 455 C, all function blocks
(FBs) you need to integrate your FM in the CPU user program, and various example
programs.
To install the software, place the CD into your drive, and then run SETUP.EXE from this CD.
Follow the setup instructions (see the
FM 455 Controller Module, manual, chapter
"Assigning parameters to FM 455".)

FM 455 C, installing and wiring
Procedure
Before you install FM 455 C, set the coding key module for channels 1 and 2 to position B
(see the
FM 455 Controlle Module r

manual, chapter "Setting the measurement type and the
measuring ranges of the analog input channels".)
Place the FM 455 C into its rack slot, then swivel it down, and screw-tighten it (refer to the
FM 455 Controller Module, chapter "Installing and removing the FM 455".)
The wiring diagram below shows you the front connector wiring of a controller channel with
voltage input and current output. The wiring of other sensors and actuators is described in
the "Wiring the FM 455" and "Connecting measuring sensors and loads/actuators" chapters
of the
Controller Module FM 455 manual.
Always short-circuit any unused analog inputs and the reference junction by wiring these to
M
ANA
and M, regardless whether or not you configured those inputs on the user interface.
You do not necessarily have to wire the digital inputs to operate a controller. The wiring of
digital inputs is also described in the "Wiring the FM 455" and "Connecting measuring
sensors and loads/actuators" chapters of the
Controlle Module FM 455 manual. The
possible usage of the digital inputs is described in the "Digital inputs" chapter of this manual.
